Im looking to buy a 10" sub and i will have and audison LRx6.SR so it gives me 220wrms @ 2ohm

I was lookin at a xtant 10" but the guy i was talking to said it needs minimum 500rms

What sq subs will do ok with 220w?

As for minimum 500RMS, well, I think thats a bit of an overstatement. What it comes down to is efficiency, and I tested this with a mate of mine who was doing his first system in a e46 300Ci...

What we had were two Pioneer amps, a 2x75 and 4x100, Focal Slims and a 12in Kicker Comp VR. Now he was planning to use the four channel to run bridged to the Comp VR and the two chan to the Focals up front.

After a chat with the friendly staff at Fairfield Car Radio, we agreed to run the 2x75 to the sub and the 4x100 to the Focals. He was under the impression that doing this would make the sub almost inaudible as it was only getting around 150RMS and at 'minimum' should have been double.

How wrong he was. The sub was loud, clear, punchy and definately there; you could feel the presence, and this was in a Coupe and a sealed boot with lots of factory deadening!

In short; put the sub in an efficient box and it will pound like no tomorrow with seemingly 'small' power. However if you feel comfortable getting a sub with a lower thermal power rating, then there are several which are available, such as the JLW0 series which are rating at about 125RMS. Best thing about it is that they are entry level from a reputed manufacturer, sound the goods and are quite affordable too!

well in my opinion, the xtant was never designed to be a big pounding sub, and thats not what i want at all really

Im looking for one that will just fill in the gap, i hardly have my system loud anyway and all this gear will be goin into a BMW 325ci or Mercedes C200K so after a little more sound deadening there wont be to much road noise to overcome

I thought that 220wrms would be enough, but i wanted others opinions. I know my 12" MTX 6000 that i have at the moment goes awesome with 150wrms, and thats almost half of recommended, so i personally think 220 should be enough.

Anyone else have any opinions on this sub wit 220wrms? its jst hard cos not that many people sell or own this brand

consider and the a/d/s/ r series subs as they are extremely efficient, excellent SQ and have high power handling if needed. 220w RMS will definitely be ample satisfy your requirements. I tested the a/d/s/ 312rs.2 on an a/d/s/ 8 ch amp giving it 150w RMS per voice coil in my e46 325i and they gave more than enough bass - even considering the intense amount of sound deadening and the ski hole is fixed. you will be more than satisfied with this sub. You will need to create a very well suited to enclosure to get the best out of this sub - like most subs.

my ski hole is opened, so it wont be hard to get through, but ill definelty consider them, they are the ones you're sellin right?

Well im feeding a single 10" sub 210wrms for SQ with the gains set around 1/4 and i was still marked as having too much sub bass. 220wrms should be fine for an SQ set up.

220wrms could be overboard, and it can also be not enough. It all depends on how your front stage is. If you have something stupidly loud, then you can't expect 220wrms to be sufficient. If its nothing huge, then it should be fine. I'm running my magmas off around 100wrms each, in an efficient ported enclosure firing into the bootlid, and it's more than loud enough, as its all balanced.

my front stage is boston pro6.5s and the centre speaker will ne a boston pro5.5

the rears will be boston rally's

its a SQ/AV setup
