I'm planning on running some 8's up front with a set of dyna 220's in the kicks.

just not too sure which way to go.

i'm leaning towards the hertz becasue of the slim design and it should fit alot easier.
the Total recoils are pretty chunky but also seem to be of very good quality.

has anyone had any first hand experience with either speaker?

from what i have heard the Space 8's arnt woth the $$$

they will be easy to fit, but from what i have heared from some very reliable sorces (ppl who have owned them etc) they just cant get them to sound good.

either way you go, try and have a listen for yourself, it's the only way you will know.

you should be able to listen to some at TR, im sure they would hook some up for ya!

Morels, not sure if they make a 8in
PG make a 9in but is pretty pricy.

why not dyn's?

Morel make an 8 in the Hybrid range, well last time I looked.

If the mid-bass is better than the 6.5s you are on a winner there.
Haven't heard better in that respect.

Total Recoil 8"s sound nice but are quite large, magnet diametre and depth.

Morel made the HCW8 which is my all time favorite 8", however I am guessing that's been replaced with a new driver that won't be released until January.

Whats the price on the Morels?

Digital Designs 6.5" MID BASS DRIVERS! got 2 sets in my doors, and they go off!!! they F*kin THUMP!

dyn (MW170), morel, diamond...all top quality drivers. so yeah, expect to pay around $300 each for one of these babies. the price you pay for high quality.

the best option would probably be the dyn's in your case coz you're mathing with a set of dyn tweets. they should then offer a 'similar sound', but probably not a big deal if you use an alternative.
