I'd be interested to hear what people think of Boston's Z5 series splits in comparison to say Focal Utopia or K2 series. I know the bostons are much more expensive, but there's nowhere around that I can sample how the Zs sound... are they significantly better in sound quality? Especially since if I get them, they wont be in enclosures and they will probably (certainly, for now) be powered by a two channel amp rather actively powering the tweeters on a seperate channel.

Anyhow, I'd be interested to hear people's opinions of the Z5s in general.

IMO their is only one speaker that compares to the Z6, and that is Dynaudio 240gt with the esotar tweeter.

Yeah, if it will be any, it'll be Z5 not Z6... I guess the same will apply to both? Other than size, I dont know how much difference there will be...

I use to have a 3-way Focal Utopia, the 3 way Focal Poly-Kevlar, I was very unsatisified with them, until I bought Boston Pro front-end, and oh my god, its like a religious-experience driving my car now. I have heard the Z6 are better again, so all I can say is buy them, you couldn't possibly be disappointed.

I'd agree, many people under-rate Boston, I've been a big fan since the early 90s, they never seem to disappoint.

If you want to hear a pair go to a boston dealer and see if he can arrange you to meet the Vic rep as he has a set in his car, this way you will hear one of the best speaker systems on the planet. When you do that you will think $2000 is not that much money at all.
