I'm after a nice, punchy 12" Sub with nice looking basket (preferably cast) for under $500. Needs to be 4ohm SVC, and able to be run off 380wrms (SONY 2x150w bridged).
Pics & RRP would be much appreciated.
Thanks all.
maybe dd2512 ... ?
or maybe dd 3512 would look tuff

They DD's arent very good looking, may look tough, but aren't pretty at all
I would probably look into maybe an Alpine Type R, XTANT Hex if you can get it at a good price, or Infinity Perfect 12", maybe Boston Pro if you can find one cheap.

For Nice looking and Great Performing Subs
Try a Magnat Destructor 1200 or Magnat XTC 1200.
The XTC 1200 retails for $299.
visit
www.magnat.deselect Engglisch button as the site is in German, Select Car Hifi and then have a look.

I second the IDQ.
The Boston pro 12.4 was the older model to the current 12.5 (which has been around for about 4 years atleast).

Cool thanks. I'm thinking of going 2 Pheonix Gold Octane-R 10"s now instead. Which would give more bass? 2x10" @150rms each or 1 x12" with 380rms?
Also has anyone listened to the Response subs? The 10" Profile Polycone looks pretty sweet for $140.
I can't really listen to either b4 buying so whats the consensus?

The octane r's are very good subs for their price, and id think you would be happy with them..
As for the responses, i have never heard one so i cant comment
Why not get a single 12" titanium sub (Phoenix gold one) ? that comes in ur budget and will sound good..

What is the PG Titanium 12" worth?

titanium's well out of that $500 budget, so why not split into the middle with the TantrumX?
though im a DD fan myself, i'd have to say those subs are probably my next favourite for bang-for-buck subs
edit; crap sorry just read you needed 4ohm svc, those tantrumX's are only in dual 4's

As one with a pair of PG Ti12D's, you MUST look into them.
Superb sounding sub, in the price range and look good basket-in or out.
Wouldn't part with mine, just fabulous.

Prehaps they thought it was the Titanium Elite being discussed on a side note has anyone heard one of these woofers if so how would you rate them.

I'd be more inclined to go the TantrumX.. they do come in SVC. IMO the basket looks nicer, the power rating is closer to my AMP, & they are 2/3 the price of the titanium. I can't see there being $150 worth of difference?
