Hi guys, just wondering if you have heard of the vifa XT25 tweeter, the one with the ring Diaphragm or phase plug thhingy. I know scanspeak has one too but its very expensive.

I've heard a vehicle using the scanspeak one in indo and it was so good that its better even compared to the dyn esotar and supremo. so i just wanted to know that if any of you have heard the vifa model and how good is it for car audio.

Yep i used the vifa XT25's, they are extremely delicate, i four of them stopped working in the 6 months i used them.

I dont know if it was something wrong with my setup, or someone kicked the tweeter. They are the only thing i have blown which wasn't on purpose.

I believe it was my DLS crossovers that might have been causing it, so i bought some Hertz crossovers but never got around to buying a replacement tweeters.

When they were both working, the sound quality was extremely good even at even high volume levels. I had 240wrms on tap for each tweeter so i doubt clipping was a problem.

They're nice tweets, but as mentioned they like a lot of power.

Had them running with a set of ddw6.5's, and nak passive xovers, sounded very fresh. Note; they are silky smooth, so if you are used to harsh tweets you are in for a big surprise.
