Can anyone tell me where i can hire/use a Db machine on the south end of gold coast? My mates would lov to have a personal shootout to see who will go the loudest. I would just love to have an idea of how loud i go.

What's the big who-ha about the dB drag meter?

AJ made a best ever with his old set-up in Qld of 157.7 and made 156.9 at FB 2001, he typically made high 156s and low 157s at ever comp leading up to FB 2001.

I really can't see any major difference between any of our Audio Controls and the Term Pro used by SCR.

I'm waiting for the new version of Term Pro (due Nov), so I'll find out myself!

what about the linear x meter, they are suppose to be a even tougher meter then the termpro ones...

going on pig75's kriss meter (which he said was 1db lower then 2001 FB meter), the ones up here (MCS/northfield )are about 2-3db higher then the ones down south...

Basically because the meter Phil uses reads about 4dB louder than FB scores... thats why... well I beleive it does anyways... basically, I can't see how I can get 147 from my sub, so i'm bringing myself down incase I do ever get to an official comp (not likely at this rate) and score real low... Also, Autobarns termpro reads 5dB lower than Phils source meter (maybe dodgy, I dont know) also GCCS's Audiocontrol (recently calibrated) meter reads about the same as Autobarns...

May i ask, what did this car run at a northfield hosted comp after the build (one held at willowbank), i can't remember the dB, but i know it wasn't over 160.....

I'm no maths genius but my calculator told me that 160.8dB - 156.9dB = 3.9dB. Now if you ask me thats pretty close to 4db hey phil?

Or maybe the comparison you need to be making it that 157.7 was done at BAS and 160.8 was done on the meter that you use...... DO I NEED TO SPELL IT OUT!!!!!

how hard is it too believe?

with the 2 amps, they probably ran them at a lower load = same power, and 4 or so dB was gained from a better install

AJ ran ONE amp at Drag Combat, due the long series of dramas we experienced with the MTX 1000D (CCS have since replaced them with brand new 81000Ds, thanks guys).

OK, Mister Sparco I'll type slowly so you can understand it!

Four 8 ohm subs in parallel, makes a nominal 2 ohm load, which at 56Hz rises to 5.4 ohms.

ONE (1) MTX 1000D onto a 5.4 ohm load, makes around 650Wrms, and gave mid-high 150s at DC with the new build.

Now, take the same load, and bridge a PAIR of MTX 1000Ds on. Each amp then actually sees 1.35ohms, making (on paper) 6dB more power.

Now back to the original point Mister Sparco came in on, I said the Qld meters, wether it be Northfields', Marcoochy's or ours all read with 1dB of each other. AJ'S CIVIC, WHICH WE USED TO WIN SYDNEY AUTOSALON FINAL BATTLE 2001 SPL KING, CAME WITHIN 0.8DB OF HIS BEST EVER QLD READING, ON THE SYDNEY METER.

So, I don't see how the Sydney meter can be 4dB lower than Qld's. We proved it by kicking ass and winning SPL KING 2001 (again!) with AJ's old set up, with tiny 3.5 cube boxes and single 6" ports!

Mister Sparco, I realise that having a go at me is now somewhat of a CAA tradition, but at least get your facts straight before you try. You seem to forget, that everytime INCAR take our big hitters to a comp, we ALWAYS go home with the trophy, regardless when, where, or what meter it's on. LOUDEST is always LOUDEST.

Calm down guys... I just voiced my thoughts... MrSparco doesnt compete directly with Phil's cars in any way, so its not like he;s annoyed by losing, because, well, he's never lost to Phil as they dont compete against each other...

Anyways, how bout this conversation concludes and we wait till we get an official dB drag meter up here huh? oh wait... we won't will we? As Angelo said we would get 2 events this year, how many did we get? hmmm... ZERO?

ill be in for that im playing with some gear at the moment heheheheh also hueting my head at the same time though to many numbers involved

ps on a different note any one on the northside got circular saw etc as i dont have my own gear at my new place and cant be phucked going home to build some boxes
