what do you think would be louder in a toyota soarer.

1. quite large box on the back seat very close to the mic.

2. much smaller box because of very small boot and rear loaded.

thanks

to date i haven't had very much success with the box on the back seat method. I don't really know why because the sub is very close to the mic. anyone like to explain?

P.S the cabin is pretty small for a coupe.

I would recommend a ported box rear loaded against the car.

SPL's are about pressure and not so much how it sounds, loading it up means harder to move, which means more power = SPL's.

That's what I've found at least, sealed box's loaded up also go good.

it depends on the sub, if the sub doesn't need a big box, then a smaller box rear loaded could work well (hopefully with folded down seats, or holes in the parcel shelf, so the bass can transfer into the cabin a bit more easily)

well the sub is a beyond audio x1 12" and i was recommended a 2.5 cube ported box for spl and sq. I currently have it where the back seat used to be. sub facing forward and so is the port. I guess i will have to wait until the test and tune and i will play with positioning then.

thanks anyway
