Hey guys,
Did some simple testing recently with a single Xplod XSL1255G woofer and a 2150SX amplifier. I used a Laser as the test vehicle, and tried a small sealed and then a larger ported enclosure.
With a 3.0 cubic foot box and a single 4" port 6" long ( about 35hz tuning ) it made 137.8 dB.
Optimum tuning would be higher than that, and I think more port area would help too. I'm pretty confident there wouldn't be too much problem getting over 140 with the single 12"
I think this is a good indicator of what SPL's will be needed to win the TV in single woofer, and the box specs above are a decent start..

I did 141.3db with the cheaper xls1235 12" sub, but that was off my 1kw Alpine amp. I reckon with the Sony I would still get a decent score though, will test it soon. And this is in my lancer sedan.

Ripped, I am still not sure. Most likely not, cause I will be working full time during that period. We can stick the gear in your car at test & tune and see what we get, and we will go from there.
