Just wondering is there going to be in the near future set SPL Classes for Competition because latley there are a few classes that combine super street with no-walls and its hard for the sport of db drag to keep people atending events if they know they are competing against them...... I think Maroochy car sound runs fair, with wattage and sub classes? If I might ask do we have a db drag Organiser for classes......

You think Maroochy's classes are fair? I don't... I think the fairest around these days (in QLD) are the cone area classes that Northfield, Gold coast car sound and some others use. With Maroochy, walls arent included, power isnt really fair as its so different for each manufacturer... For EG: I won my class by 7dB, i'm in the lowest class, yet I can be competitive in the higher power classes, if not still win... There are no rules for # of battery/# of amps/walls... And they have so many classes nearly everyone wins something...

At the moment, dB drag rules are non-existent in QLD so why worry about it? but dB drag is the only real worldwide group, so maybe its better to stick to them?

**** iasca

db drag rules are the best and fiarest rules there are

whats the point of having a car with 2 **** 15s in it Vs a car with 60 10s in it i cant see how that would be fair

and how am i spose to win with say 2kw and 1 10s wen im up againest 2kw and 10 15s
there is no logical reason why to vary from db Drag. It is WORLD STANDARD really in SPL. goto the termpro site and have a look at how many countries run Db drag SPL. give it time. it is only new and gaining support in australia. all the serious SPL attempts getting build atm are db Drag. so thats where the future is in for australia SPL.

You have to look at it like this. Are you looking at being serious(read: if your gear doesn't blow up ur not trying hard enuff) about your SPL eg aiming for the yanks and europeans more so now or in it to have fun bust of some tones and maybe take a placing.

also it takes time, soon enuff there will be a few n/w cars running round and u will get your own class but un till then u will be running with the walled class. grit ya teeth get out do some serious testing and rock up and beat a walled car

Thanks for that Pig! I actually really like those classes, but there's no restrictions on amp number or battery's... which may be a problem. But otherwise those rules are excellent!

yeah it doesn't really make sense that everyone comes on here and they get told what class they will be in DBDrag style when nobody that i know of even use those rules. I know i bought my current setup to compete in S1-2 but there is no class like that, however similar ones will less restrictions. (Maroochy) oh well, hope to see the globalisation of DBDrag to australia soon.
