Hey today i seen the most Funny setup ive ever seen.

A guy down here was sitting down the beach with his boot open on his Datsun 120Y and his stereo Kranking (Well if you could call it that LOL)

He had a nice Pioneer H/U (not sure exactly what model)

Running the craptiest speakers i ever saw they were called KarMate (Ive heard farts that have better s/q than these speakers LOL! )

Then he had in his boot a Sub by the name of Tornado Mounted in what looked like an old wood vege crate) Running straight off one of the H/U channels and he had the cheek to say my system was crape when he hadnt even seen or heard it yet. I could out do it with 1/4 volume
I just laughed and drove off didnt even bother to krank it (didnt need too )

Do anyone out there have any good stories
Mr Neil

Whoa whats up with that??

Dodgiest I've seen is hooking the speaker level HU output directly to an RCA jack and plugging that into the amp.. the "proud owner" toasted his amp & subs doing that.

Dodgiest I've heard was an Astra hatch with stockie speakers & Pioneer HU.. she had it wound up flat and was giving us (me & a mate) a spectacular show of Dance Music at the lights. We'd just fitted the Magma & Cali. for a test run so we returned the favour and let her listen to some Public Enemy.. she got mad when her roof started shaking

Tornado subs. LOL! They sell them at Strathfield car audio for $12. LOL!
Rockin
I know a guy who for his front stage (if you can call it that) has a single Pioneer 4inch coaxial sitting in the front passenger footwell. I picked it up and felt the music... the ladies might enjoy it though.

I don't think we should be knocking people with worse systems than our own guys... We're about helping others, laughing isn't cool unless they deserve it

Yeah i know but the guy i said about did deserve it he said my setup was crap with out even seeing or hearing it.

So i have no sympathy for him
hobzta
haha, what about my completely free-air system at Bathurst LiveWire last time

deadset had the subs mounted into a MDF board behind the backseat, nothing but the parcel shelf and the hatch to attempt to gets some closure around the subs, ROFL

ask BlackIce and PuRpS about it LOL
halo99
i knew this guy who swapped his 2nd car for 2 sony 6X9's and a 12" sony sub.
yep the 6X9's were installed propperly but the sub was in the boot not in a box. running off the head unit. not crossedover
hahaha he was sooo proud.
Subatomic
Dude thats bad!!
Daniel
someone i once met tried to convince me that he had bridged his head unit to run his square L7 10" and got 144dB in a 0.5cu/ft sealed box..

he then bought a boss amp....

i cried that night for him...

BlackIce
Heh, the Hobzta mobile was certainly dodgy . Pointing forward at that.. hehehe, it was a surprise you hit 123dB man

Oh, and the bodgiest SPL install I've ever seen was a TR Magna sedan with 2x Crossfire BMF 15"s in a Megavox 4th order bandpass pre-fab enclosure rear loading in the boot.. 2x 12" Response in pre-fab sealed enclosure sitting on the back seat firing forward.. response 4x 100WRMS amp running the whole show. Can we say cancellation ? His battery karked it before the comp. even started and needed to replace it before doing his 1st qualifier. He was lucky to hit 130dB..

haha, yeah I was shocked myself, ROFL, gotta admit those wire hanging baskets were a god damn brillant brainwave, LOL

I prolly didn't mention this either, but the parcel shelf was broken because of the systems original install. Brace yourself for this......originally I had it installed the 2x10" subs and 6" speakers mounted in the parcel shelf, with no support or bracing, ROFL
