Ok. i'm kinda stuck in thinking, also i don't know whats better and would like peoples opinions.
I've got 2 DVC Type R's going into my system and i want to have them in a ported box... perferably 1.5cu.ft ported size box.
Now. my question is, is it better to have 1 big enclosure say 3cu.ft for 2 subs with 2 ports. or is it better to have a split enclosure with 1.5 cu.ft per sub ported box with 1 port per sub.
What sounds better and loudest. I'm welcomed to any feedback you may give me.
thanks

Do you mean 2 chambers in the one enclosure, or a single chamber is what you're trying to pick between ? If so, 2 chambers is usually the way to go as you get a smoother response 'cos the subs don't act & react against each other. It's also easier to get "right" when doing the 2 chamber thing.
Someone else should be able to explain the why's and how's of this better than me..
Or do you mean 2 enclosures versus one enclosure with 2 chambers ? If this is what you mean then 2 separate enclosures would be better 'cos it'd give you more options in enclosure placements and allows you to remove one sub to re-gain boot space. Thats about it tho..

I always ran my pair of Alpine Type-r's in common enclosure with single large port... best score was 147.3db @ dorans. Never tried seperate enclosures though.

enclosure common to both woofers, as in 1 chamber for both subs.

in most cases there shouldn't be much difference.. in some cases seperate chambers *may* be a little better due to more bracing..
