Well, we finally got to test the mighty 8" Tornado.
We gave it 75wrms, it got a 127.9dB then died.
It was in a 1.4 cu ft ported box tuned to 40Hz
Team Xmax have set the benchmark, as far as I know.
so come on people, give it a go, from a single 8".

you get em from Strathfield, although the Wollongong stor didn't have any 8", we ended up getting it at Final Battle (Strathfield stand).

try it in a bandpass box, 0.4 cu/ft sealed rear chamber, 1.5 cu/ft tuned to 60hz front chamber.. should be good... if you can get a reading before it smokes

We put two on plates over the 15" holes in Will's Corolla.
It was scary how loud it got in eight cubes!

the 8" was $18, not sure what the other sizes cost.
its good to see that others are willing to give it a go.it sounds like some of you have got some crazy idears,i dont know how long it will last if you give it 400wrms as ours blow at 75wrms. and why is this something you can choose

was it calibrated on the day? NO!
new rule: scores don't count unless the calibration was done on the day

12"- $35
15"- DD, Beyond etc. breathed a sigh of relief when they heard there was no 15" version.

So if these are availiable at Strathfield, are they also availible at Brisbane car sound? as there is no strathifiled near me but there is a Brissy car sound. i will get a few and see how they go with about 1200wrms. Also i have an MTX1000D it doesnt appear to have any fuses on it, does it have protection mode, because if(when) i fry on of these subs can it hurt my amp.
thx

as for damaging your amp, i'm not sure... usually when the sub blows the amp just stops playing...

Well it is an MTX so it should have good protection right?
In the manual for the amp it has in the features section "Real Time Computerized Protection Circuit" Sounds good to me
