hi all
I was thinking of the ultimate car for street 1-2 last night (it's just a dream at the moment - no funds). I figured the car would have to be smallish, not have a factory back seat and preferably no windows in the back. best I came up with was a Holden Combo (although not sure if this is classed as a commercial vehicle). This has no windows in the back so you could build a massive box without going over the window height.
anyone have thoughts on what they think their ultimate street 1-2 car would be?

Fiat Panda, Honda CRX, Ford Explorer
window line rule goes by front door windows anyway so doesn't make a difference if theres back windows or not. The 3 above mentioned cars are not speculated good Street 1-2 cars they are 100% proven Street 1-2 cars.... Fiat Panda's are dominating Europes Db-drag st1-2 scene and CRX's & Ford Explorer's dominating the US Db-drag st1-2 scene.

Definately the CRX...
Although I'm thinking maybe a series 4/5 RX7 may do well, althopugh only problem is it has a backseat...

i think the combo is a commercial vehicle because you can park in loading zones in the city not a problem.

yeah BASIC_VN it is a Cielo, they take the rear seats out so they can pack in parcels ect.
It has a huge boot regardless and it is actually classed as a Panel van rather than a hatch, I have come to the decidion that I Love them now
Rock on the Cielo

1997 worth like $10k
ex courier 300,000km $2500

Don't forget you really want a car that comes factory with no back seat, if it had one and was removed its not allowed in street class.
I'd go for a liftback like an old pop-up light integra, big room behind the back seats, and the seats fold down.

me too but with a 36A alternator (the biggest from the factory) I don't think it will really make a suitable street 1-2 car.

Ahhh... if it was designed as a consumer removeable seat then it is allowed in Street class... But I read somewhere it has to be able to be done without any type of tool?
