which would be better in the long run a coustic 801bd or a usaudio mono bone crusher.
i am currently running a pair of type s 10's which wouls be run at 2 ohms in any case but later on i intend to be runing a 4 type r 10's or 2 type r 12's most likely the 12's tho i would get the most suitable coils configuration for each amp in the end. and also would either of these be too big for a pair od s 10's in a daily driving setup look below for more system info
I don't know how good coustic is however the us audio amp i had one of these, was an ok amp, for about 15 minutes, it literlly blew up in 15 mins running 2 x 12's in a 2ohm load, they are mean't to run a 1 ohm load, hence the reason i don't like these amps. I struck a deal as the us audio gets fixed, i get my money back and put a little cash on top to get my kenwood x810d monoblock (scored for under 900), much happier with this amp, also i think the us audio is %0.10 thd, i noe its higher than my current monoblock. THats just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't worry about distortion differences in sub amps.
You can't hear 1%, let alone 0.1%
Go for quality. Here are a few things that I would consider warning signs when chosing an amp:
1. The amp has "US" or "USA" in the brand name, but is made elsewhere
2. The box has muilt-colour ugly graphics on it.
3. The amplifier has the "MAXIMUM" power rating plastered all over it.
4. The amp, packaging or advertisement has the words "mega-bass" or "power pumper" in it!!

Well i have not heard a good thing sbout them from anyone except a salesman tring to sell me one. I looked at them and had the cash ready but them d3ecided that quality is as important as power so i chose the alpine M500 instead because they are designed to run type Rs which i also have thats my suggestion
I think the price difference is minimal if any

512 for the coustic and $799 for the alpine and usaudio also concidering i can't get the alpine (not that i like alpine amps any ways) till mid febuary so it is between the usaudio and coustic at the moment i am leaning towards the coustic because of price. any other suggestions of amps that can be got in tassie that will rival the price/power of these 2 amps

You would prefer a us audio amp (a home brand autobarn amp) over a true digital amp By ///ALPINE (multi national company with years of experience) ?????
I Supose the decision is yours but i dont see there is a comparison at all.

i would get an alpine amp if i could get one but i need it by the 19th of january and the usaudio and the coustic are the ones that i can get by that point in time i am leaning hard towards the coustic because i can get it for $512 and the us will cost me $699 but by all means i would get the alpine if they were in stock. but the coustic sounds best at 800 watts rms for $512...

Bassmekanik,
I can't comment on the Coustic 801bd as i have never played with one, however i have got a 481qe 4 channel that i think is a bloody good amp, Coustic are also owned by the same company who own MTX so i wouldn't be surprised to see some features and build quality trickle down the line and lets face it.... 800rms for $512.00....you'd be nuts if you didn't grab it

Might I ask where you're getting the 801DB from $512 coz that's an insanely good price. Are you sure it's not the 401DB? I didn't even know Custom Car Sound was bringing in the 801DB to Australia.

i found out today that the sales dude was talking about the 401 not the 801 so i put the usaudio on layby for 620 if it blows i will get a alpine

Why not save time and money and just get the alpine cause you will not be happy with the us audio and i paid 699 for my alpine mrd-m500.
