um, well, it looks more like a PA system amp, rather than a proper home stereo style amp for good clean power... However, that 2000w is @ 1 ohm, which, is ALOT of power from a mains socket.... Which adds up, but, for that price, they must be broken or something, lol, either that, or there was no R&D involved in the development of the units...

well have no idea why they are so cheap, but that is on the U.S. ebay site, maybe a dB competitor wanting to off load his old gear before the new season starts and wants the D3000m
Have a look at www.lanzar.com/sucategorylist.asp?category=amplifiers&nseries=Rack this is a listing if all lanzars rack mount amps. Also have a look here not on the D2000m but on it's more powerful bigger brother, the D3000m http://www.termpro.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimat...c;f=20;t=006547 and http://www.termpro.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimat...c;f=20;t=006556

I'm afraid you wrong on all counts, it's a car audio amp, 12volts and not 240v mains, and you can buy them online for $618 us and here for about $1400 aus, if you really want one or three get in contact with Michael at Sounds Xplosive Audio in Perth

Yeah i know it is on ebay, but if you look closely they will only ship to the 48 continent states of the US, not out side... for that priced it would be worth buying a few
the 3000m which is the bigger daddy of this does around 2400wrms and is louder than a d2 people have tested them.

so i would say the 2000m would do ~1600wrms
Maz
i just went through their store and they have the 3000 series amp aswellas 7inch LCD's for $150.

Whats the chance of getting a middle Man in the US? if he then sent the gear as "presents" would I have to pay inport tax or GST?
NUTTTR
if he sends them as gifts, and they actually check (they do check quite a few items) then you'll be hit with charges still, so don't count on not getting gst, etc, etc
Aaron
Maz
i dont know how they'd know what to charge though, thats the thing. As the amps could be second hand, thus the present thing.

might have to find a friend in the US
BIGW
well it looks like i have a mate in florida who is willing to bring back 4 of the 2000m's to australia when he returns and i pay the excess baggage charge! i wish the online company had a phone number to call, yes sometime is they send the goods privately you can get away with not paying SOME taxes, its when they list what the rrp of the good is, thats when they sting you,
cheers

Do you think your freind has a little more space in his baggage for 1 or 2 more amps??????
Maz
why not the 3000m's?

whats the RMS of each of these amps?

Will these be for you? i'll be willing to pay for if you get them, so PM me if you want to sell
BIGW
heh, there 19" long so there not that small, and ive had to kiss alot of a$$ for him to even bring mine back, but nothings set in stone. y dont i go the 3000m? double the price and not double the power.
cheers
jon
Maz
D2000M = $189
D3000M = $269

Looks like they are about the same power per dollar.

does the D2000M put out much more power than the Vibe 1500D amps?

Have you guys thought about how much that thing would weigh. It looks like it belongs in the stone age. It would have a HUGE mains transformer, and thoughs heatsinks aren't light either. I reckon you've got to be looking at least 20 kilos
Maz
it doesn't have a mains transformer this is a 12volt car amp. And it would definitely weigh less than 20kilos
BIGW
i really dont care how much it weighs, nor what it looks like, i just want it to make full power,
cheers

Well the company i work for makes 19 inch 2U, rack mount amplifiers, excatly the same as the lanzer, but looks ALOT better. All the models run with 240 AC volts, but as a secondary option you can connect 12 VDC. The 12 VDC option really is meant to be used in case of a black out, but there is no reason why it couldn't be used in a car or a boat. Thats why i thought it had a large mainsoutput transformer, as i thought it would of been similar to the models we manufacture. The heaviest model we make weighs in at 30 kilos, try at assemble 50 of these at a time, and box them up onto a pallet
