well i have a single 15 .. that i use .. and i know were to place the box for SPL ... but im gunna run it inverted .. and the box wont fit were it normaly goes .. will this affect me ???? .. i can get it close to the SPECIAL SPOT .. but the magnet in touching the back pannle of the car .. ?

Man is the extra 5 litres gained for inverting the sub going to be a great improvement even thou you cant put it into the sweet spot?

if ur so set on inverting them why not rebuild ur box??? so it goes back further or goes lower or sumthinngggggg....
i dont know why the hell u wanna invert them, they sound like bloody mud inverted half the time, the other half they sound exactly the same
if a sub was built to be inverted they'd tell u to invert them wouldnt they!!!
install a sub to the manufacturers spec and ur bound to get the best possible sound

There was a thread about inverting subs not too long ago.. search this forum for it.

If the enclosure was built spot on, you may gain a 0.1dB from inverting, just because the motor no longer displaces air in the enclosure making it "bigger". Also, having the motor out of the enclosure can allow it to run cooler.
Or you might find like I did which is the pitch black motor + sun = extremely hot motor structure before you've even hit the lanes

As for sounding muddy.. it seemed to boom just as good inverted or regular. Besides, who plays with SPL if their prime concern is SQ ?
