Either that, or someone on the Earthquake production line spilt coffee on it.
Other, more sensible option, is that the thin insulating plastic on the board might be going rotten, either from heat, chemicals, or just because...

bah, i took the pic a couple of weeks ago, and since that time i've been to a comp and run her at the usual 0.5ohms. but yeh, i know at the end of the day it's a matter of time before it blows up.
i don't think anyone has owned a d2 for an extended period of time without having it blow up, it's just a time bomb really... just like any other d2.

Flux from overheating is my guess too.
Low loads that mean more output power also mean more heat to dissipate, a 120mm fan on the Amp would be a kinda nice, cheap insurance I reckon.

Now Ripped, we all know what you did when the D2 showed up, don't try and pass that off as "flux"
Most amps have an insulating goo on the toroidals (sp) It just looks like yous is melting.

It's in a BLOODY similar spot to where andu's tracks have been repaired, like a few mm away! i'd say the extra load on the amp, for some reason is making it run extra current through those tracks, and the curve in the tracks is just dodgy and the resistance is heating it up, thus melting the thing protective layer on the board, hence the brown stuff, literally burning... um, so, yeah, short answer your amp is gonna blow sometime, or at least that track is next.... long answer, it's gonna blow Um, i'd like to see high res pics of bodyjars, i wanna see if those tracks are blown!

flux makes solder stick to metal.... otherwise it just goes into a ball and falls off. it can be seperate like when silver soldering u have to like paint the flux on first then heat it up and apply the solder but with electrical stuff I think the solder has a layer of flux on the outside? not sure... but anyways if ur soldering and it doesn't get heated up enough the flux forms brown stains like that around anywhere ur soldering.
yes the brown stain is close to where i've got a repaired track in my amp but its not right on it.. and your track appears perfect.
