In hatchback vehicles the highest point of speaker enclosure or subwoofers may extend in a vertical direction to no more than within 20" of roof of vehicle

yep, the window line rule is offical gay...

Fixed. 10" limit now.
Intent - to prevent walls in hatch backs in Stock class.

i think you should re word the alternator section cause my gemini comes with a external regulator from factory
as do many other vehicles

High output / multiple or modified alternators, or those with external voltage regulators are not allowed.

Looking good i just have one small comment to make.

Where it says Front rear seats may be folded down / forward only. No Removal.

Can we change that line to....

Front / Rear seats may be folded down /forward only. No removal permitted except when competing in stock B when the back part of the rear seat maybe be removed for competitions.

This way my car and a few others wont be forced into move into modified class.

Also I dont see why we cant have an aftermarket alternator as it really doesnt make that much of a difference and with amplifiers having a standard altenator can have a devistating effect on ur cars electrical system. I have an aftermarket alt all as advised by an auto elec. Most people in here with a sub woofer with a small car will have the same problem. I only went to 80 amps so i think there should be a limit to size in stock B. Say for example 90 amps because then people with commodores and falcons wont have an advantage over us people with smaller cars, which is most of us. Oh and my alternator also charges at 14.4 volts as this is what the alternator came with. Once again for stock i think there should be a limit such as this imposed rather than saying you cant have an external regulator as most alternators yew buy come with these. So I would like to see a limit of say 90 amp alternators or limit it to one alternator. However I cant see how saying you have to have the same alternator as most auto elecs wont put then in once your original one has died. I am sure once again people would agree with me.
Marc
Alternator suggestions have been addresses.
Edited Revision 4.

Don't think we will be allowing the complete removal or seats in Stock classes though.

They may be folded down or forward only.

i think the alternator should be left stock only in stock classes...

and as for the seats, you should reword so they can be folded forward and back (front seats reclined back i mean)...
Marc
All above comments have been addressed.
See revised Revision 4 Didn't think they justifed Revision 5 just yet
I think lead acid batteries should be allowed in cabin if placed in a sealed box and vented to the outside of the vechicle.

and also maybe removal of seats only if no tools are needed. EG rear seats in most sedans etc. what does others think??

I will have a good read of it soon

well if they are behind your wall or in the boot they aren't in the passenger compartment anyways

only people that have to go sealed coz of this rule are guys in Stock B class with hatches

I'm happy with it all - There can't be many more changes required.

Good work Marc + the gang!

In the stock class description, the line of:

"Front/rear seats may be folded down/forward or rearward only. No removal permitted."

That refers to any and all parts of seats?

ie. In my vehicle the rear seats could be folded down fully if the part of the seat ya bum sits on is removed, otherwise it's only about 80% of fully the forward position.

I take it that the back and bum part of the seat MUST be installed???

Well i like that idea....My car as standard doesn't have fold down seats but it was made as Standard for the consumer to lift the back rest up and out it comes or fold forward as you wish.... Does this allow me to to stay in Stock A
ripped
i see the rules as, the bum part has to stay in place

my car does the same thing, folding it down 100% vs 80% will be jack all difference... 80% down is probably better anyway, less cabin volume plus it's directing the air towards to mic better
DrEvil
Exception about Window heights in stock A for hatchbacks...

does this mean in rippedskins pic (as shown above) he could build his box 4" higher, even though it is now above window line? but still giving the 10" from roof limit.
hardon
The weight of my monster box would push the extra 20% down anyway...

Just thought i'd throw the query out there...
Now I gotta change my alternator and get some seats from somewhere!
ripped
probably... but if i build it 4" higher, and it's rectangular, i wouldnt be able to close the hatch... i'd have to build it on an angle... the parcel shelf won't able able to be put back on (probably illegal in stock), and also i'd lose db anyway.... sound has to travel to the front and having a box that high is crap...

the box shown in the pic is crap, my other box was better.
NUTTTR
Well, i have one thing, in stock, no seats/parts of seats should be able to be removed, full stop..... I say this because even if you say "no tools" i can remove my entire rear seat from my sedan without tools, because it's held in with metal hooks, just pushed over....once thats out, i can literally pull my parcel shelf out, and can also remove the base cushion on my front seats out... Like, i don't see what difference to SPL it would make (rear seat in my car is HUGE foam cushion thing, so maybe it absorbs??) modified is where stuff really gets taken out, stock is, well, stock, to a degree
I didn't see it in the rules, but how about some form of "battery/batteries must be able to be disabled within 10 seconds" or something like that in case of risk, include ALL batteries, for obvious reasoning!
