i was wondering how do i find out what freq my box is if it is even possible for a sealed box to have a freq that is?
just wanting a idea on what to set the xovers and such on the HU and the amp is all?

Try setting it to 40Hz that worked well with my old 2 12's in a sealed box.
Im not sure bout what frequency theyre best at in a sealed box though??

Sealed boxes technically dont have a "tuned" frequency, but they do have a peak output. BassA or someone else can explain it better than I ever could.
But anyway, if you're looking to set Xovers, might I suggest the following:
LP sub @ 80hz if you use 6"x9"s as the biggest full range
LP sub @ 100-120Hz if you use 6"s as the biggest full range
just as a rule of thumb.

Sealed boxes do have a resonant frequency indicated by the impedance peak.. The sealed box resonant frequency (Fc) is determined by the box volume and of course the subs specs..
Now for SPL, the difference box volume makes is on the efficiency of certain frequencys.. Often you can use a very small sealed box to increase the resonance at a particular frequency (resulting in more efficiency - ie more excursion with less power). It can often result in a peak in the frequency response..
But as far as setting the low pass filter frequency (for daily driving), the resonant frequency isn't really relevant at all..
Most people would set it at the frequency that sounds best, that would usually be between 60-80hz. (perhaps higher/lower) So the midbass from the sub blends in with the midbass of your front speakers resulting in a bass-up-front effect.

ok i have 7*10 at the rear and 6 at the front so would i set the xover at 80Hz do i set the HU built in xover at 80 and also the amp at 80 or do i leave the hu at through and just use the amp to set it? cause i though that maybe using the hu and the amp would change the actualy freq? or am i just lost?
