Hello All,
I'm hoping that I'd be allowed to compete in Stock A this year with my stocky 110 Amp alt. Anyways, I'm planning on building an SPL box for one of my 15L7's. The two 15's are currently in a sealed common chamber 3.9 cuft box. Maximum volume I can play with is 4.4 cuft. Is 4.4 cu.ft. ported okay for a 15L7? Will there be a difference in output with one 15 ported compared to my current 3.9 cuft sealed with the two 15's? What should I tune it to and what is the best way to face the woofer and port for maximum SPL in a hatchback.
Cheers in advance,
Brian.

Ported is the only way to go!
With the right tuning it will sound better and play lower than your sealed set up, as well as being LOUDER, even with only one woofer!

Thanks for the reply Phil.
What are the steps for designing, constructing and tuning an SPL box? I guess I have to find the resonant frequency of the car, build a box that maximise the volume of the available space within the rules. Thats all that I know. What about tuning? Say the car's resonant frequency is at 50Hz, do I have to tune the box to that frequency or what? And where is the best place to position the woofer and port in a hatchback?
Sorry for all the Q's. I just need some info to help me start this project.
Cheers,
Brian.
