if it was in my car the volume would be very simalar if not a tenth of a db lower because they handle more power than mine but are less sensitive

Not much Im afraid... I'd be thinking around 135dB, maximum...

ok cook BassMech, only wanna fork out upto 300 max per sub
.. i dont think you can get's 10's to play loud in a sealed box sorry.... maybe in a portd box ... a single 10 in a ported box would be come close to being louder then 2x10's in a seald box
like bodyjar said sealed is for the weak

I dont think many people have had good success with Type R's in ported boxes, just ask Andu!
In that price range and power, I'd try the Hertz HS250, I will be using ONE of them this weekend at a comp, I'll let you know how it goes Aiming for 143dB...

Yeah they're the ones. How big is small to you?
I'll be running it in a 3.2 cubic foot box...

LoL basically i can fit 2 30 litre internal volume chambers so im after something that sounds good! and within my volume range sealed or ported with decent spl.

Yeah, I have 2 of these subs. Very efficient, and I have got 144.3 with 2 of them in a ported box off my 1507.

ok i think i have narrowed it down alittle, either hertz hs250 alpine s type or pg tantrum any others i should look at? and btw ill prolly go the sq route as i cant exspect to much spl with the power i have.

alpine type r 10's in small ported boxes have been proven for good spl. bodyjar, the festiva with ther 2 alpine 10's and a crap load of power killed you at kalbar...
he had them in 1.5cf ported boxes each... so thats about 40L per 10...

ive checked the specs on the hertz and with a sensativity of 93db they must be good for my application even in a sealed box and with good power handling!! Are they a spl sub or just a good efficient nice sounding alrounder, they seem pretty cheap too, good choice for me perhaps?

The Hertz HS 250s and 300s have an efficiency bandwidth product that is a little on the high side which means it is more suited to ported boxes..
Also, the correct 1w/1m efficiency spec of the HS250 is 88dB..

Hmmm... yes I did forget about them! Although they did have 2000wrms or so... But yeah, they performed very well..
If its out of the hertz, typeS and PG, I'd go the Tantrum!! especially for SQ purposes, the Hertz will really only like ported boxes...

ok thaNKS for that Bodyjar, i assume the tantrums sound good in sealed boxes? Im also still looking so if anybody has any subs to recomend me that sound good with good spl im open to any suggestions.

how small can i go with tantrums in a ported? i read there manual and they suggest for musical go 1.2cft ported @35hz or spl 0.95cft tuned @48hz, so i figure chop 3 litres off the 1.2cft box and tune it a fraction higher, would that be a good compromise between SQ & SPL ?

UPDATE, ok i have reasessed my plans, i can move the box forward of the diff hump which will give me alot more height for the box. That being the case i should flick the 10's and move to 12/'s, from what i have seen, ill need a wedge shape box and prolly max internal volume of 2cft, so therefore should i go 2 12's sealed or 1 twelve ported, i still want good clean tight LOUD bass, so what ya think?
