Watch out QLD, max(thats me) is coming, with the JL 500/1, JL 12" sub, a box tuned by some American JL audio pro guy and just in case, a 400gram can of whoop ass. Any competitors!!!!!!

I won't be at the autobarn comp, but I'll be at the next one. I don't have it yet but by about end of April I'll be kicking some ass.

Looks like you will be competing against me in some comps... That's no problem, things get interesting when there is a lot of competition. Did you get your HU problems sorted yet?

in the august hot 4's mag they have a test of D class amps.
JL 500/1
4 ohms @ 13.4volts 506rms
2 ohms @ 13.2volts 684rms
A good result for a amp rated at 500rms well be a little less at 12v though,the regulated power supply well help abit.
the strongest was the fusion 11 amp with 1080rms@ 2 ohms 12.9volts and the Kenwood x810D was next(This is what I use)with 1020rms@ 1 ohm 12.8 volts.
Just some food for thought.

But in my opinion, Hot4s tests have about as much clout as Today Tonite stories...

When you have the rite gear its quite simple to test output power as I'm sure you know.I cant see it being to far of the mark,you can at least compare between the amps tested(same scope, resistors,meters,power supply etc)

Are you going for the 1 12" setup aswell now, you'll never guess why my H/U wouldn't work, I told my brother to turn the keys on, but he took them out instead. had me stressing for ages..But all is sweet now

In most comps 2x10" are up against 1x12" (except Maroochy). Good to hear your HU is now 'fixed'...

East-bay punk just asked what sub I'll be running. Well that's a tough question, I can tell you it will be a JL 12", not sure whether to go svc and just the one 500/1 or get a dvc and two 500/1s(coz I can get em really cheap(1600 a pair).Looking for a good sub(pervin at the JL W7 &
W6V2s)
As for the box, I'm not sure of the volume but it's 18.05"Hx22.5"Wx18.25"D. Not sure of the frequencies either, tell you when I find out).

DB King, Are you running 3kW just for comps, what with a Jonah amp or sumfin., I might go 2x12s just to steer clear of that(J/K).
well .. ill be running 3kw to the jonah 12 at BAS ..... NO COMMENT ON THE AMP"S ILL BE USEING IT A SCREAT i wont be running it at MCS comp's only at bas... ill only be in the 0-300 watt's 1 woofers class... you will be in the 300 - 600 watt 1 woofer .. and ill still beat you lol hehehehe
