Is fibreglass classified as sound deadening, in CAAdB or any other comps for that matter?
I ask because i have the bottom part of my box made from fibreglass, which touches the bottom of the tire well and i guess could be classed as sound deadening.
But also because i want to use a few layers on my boot lid (sedan) as a deadener?
cheers,
Klattsy.

no it's not considered Sound Deadening under any circumstance. However, it could be viewed as an SPL increasing modification. Check the rules for your class.

unless it is the box
modified would allow it behind the b pillar (marc would have to varify this)

But how does one define sound deadening material?
Who said fibreglass isn't a sound deadener? It does the same job as stick on matt, it probably does it better.
If someone has applied fibreglass in order to stop the boot skin from rattling and is within the specified thickness I think this should be legal.
I can't see that 3mm of fibrglass is structual re-inforcement.
