This is one very good summary of people who are into SPL:

The amps and sub woofers are responsible for the vibrations and noise pulsating through sidewalks, buildings and the bodies of pedestrians. Averaging about 600 watts each, they emit very low frequencies translating into loud, and far-travelling, decibels.

"It's like how a whale communicates to another whale," said Diab.

"They use very, very low decibels to other whales that are very, very far away. Because the bass is so low you don't actually hear it that big in the car but when the car goes past it's a lot louder."

Mr_Bob
ummm whales use low frequencies, most likely, rather than low decibels...

"And although boom cars can achieve 130 decibels"

Garth notes, from anecdotal evidence, that boom car owners may need to go to the toilet more often than usual

Once a month, at Strathfield Car Radio's Parramatta store, young enthusiasts meet for an audio audit, paying to use a sound meter to measure their car's system.
I remember those days..
I think it was once a month on saturdays about 20 caa members would be there in the workshop!
LOL
Pitty they didnt mention CAA!

i believe low frequency sound at high levels causes problems with the bowels, not the bladder.
hence the term, bowel trembling bass.
