Hi

i was looking for some help in finding new and used nak dealers or retail outlets ect. Online websites (au) would be great too.

Appreciated biggrin.gif

CAA Supporters GL Pro Sound www.glprosound.com.au and Stylyn Car Audio in Melbourne www.stylyn.com are both Nakamichi Retailers.

Failing that, contact AZ Trading (www.aztrading.com.au) and ask them who the nearest retailer to you is as they are the Australian distributors.

I doubt you will find Nakamichi available for sale online anywhere also.

What Nak gear are you after?

Head unit and subs in particular.

Just out of curiousity, is it wise of me investing in a Naka CD700 ll and to get rid of my pioneer deck DEH-P9450MP? Would there be a major diff in SQ?

And if you guys could help.... is there a major difference between the CD700 and the CD700ll?

Thanx loads!

Please let me know which state you are in and I will give you the names of some dealers.

Nakamichi do not have a current range of subs available. The best head unit to go for is the CD400. At $1199 RRP it provides Excellent SQ features combined with great Nak understated looks.

The main difference between CD700 and CD700 Mk2 is the Disc clamping mech is not so proned to jambing or skipping in the Mk2. The facia is also Black Alum rather than grey.

the CD700 has an awesome reputation for superb SQ, so i would expect to be significantly better than the pioneer 9450. smile.gif

neilo: you lookin' at nak HUs (and sub) but in the other thread are thinking about pioneer coaxials and 6x9s??? what the?

if you will only run pioneer coax speakers, then you are grossly overcapitalising on the HU IMO. of course if you like the name, cosmetics, etc, then sweet, but you will get equally good SQ from a HU costing no more than $4~500.

nak HUs perform best driving audiphile speakers and amps. or at least have the potential to shine when doing so.

if you're on a tight budget then i'd suggest at least doubling the budget for speakers and halving that for your HU. you'll have far better results.

Hi JCY1

What is the rest of your system like? I have heard all the Nak HUs including he 9450 on a demo board before. And IMO, even the cd400 sounds more natural and smooth comparing with the 9450. The price difference between the cd700 and cd400 is almost $3k and if you believe that some parts of your system is not up to scratch, you may consider a cd400 and spent the $3k for other upgrades.

But if you can find a good deal or price on the cd700, then definitely go for it....its awesome..... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

thanx guys... smile.gif

I'm currently ruuning my front stage with 240 dyn's + 2 JL subs + an Xtant 604 amp + kenwood back speakers in the rear just to keep some fill tongue.gif And sound dadened te doors and boot of my S15. All these with the help of the pioneer DEH9450MP.

Seriously, it already sounds good to me..... but i thought if i Naka could do better, i won't mind. Just gotta part with my sorta new pioneer deck. ahhaha... which is sad. sad.gif

what do u guys think? should i just work on my wiring and stuff before i change my deck? keep this system for the time being?

Confused me, :|

forgot to add this question...

If i get the Naka CD700, do i need to get another amp to run it? or can i simply run it off my current X604? including all the other stuff. as stated above?

thanx!

Go to you cloesest Nak dealer that has the CD400/CD700 on display, and ask them polietly to wire it up to your system quickly so you can test it in car. (it should be an easy task 10-20 minutes work and they'll probably do it for free if they know they can get a sale out of you).

If you get the CD700 it will work fine with your existing amp.
Battaboom
The CD700 or CD700 mk2 do not have any inbuilt power. The CD400 has
4 x 45w built in.

I dont think you will find any dealers in Oz that have a CD700 mk2 in the demo board or even in stock.

Once again, what state/city are you in and I will arrange a demo for you...
