hey i have just recently brought a 12" xtant hex, it will be running of a caliber 2000D which is around 750-800 rms, i am aiming mainly for SQ but still want it to be able to go loud for when i want it to. I am aware that a 2 cube seald box is a good box for them. But i would like others opinions of a box design (will go ported if it is recomended).
My car is a 94 honda accord and so far my system is made up of
Morel Dotechs 6"
Alpine 6x9's in the back(only used because they were left over from old car)
front stage amp - Alpine MRV-F4005 (bridged 150 rms)
so any suggestions would be well apreciated.
Hows what i have got sound any suggestions on upgrades

Yeah, I'd suggest a sealed box of about 60 litres.
The subs specs would suggest that it isn't really suited to a ported box, but if you really wanted to do it, you would need a big box, about 120 litres, tuned to around 25hz...

cheers any one else?

i'd suggest sealed for best SQ.

certainly a biggish box (~2cuft) looks to provide the flattest response (total Q close to the magic 0.707).

if your taste is a for a nice solid low-end response (ie: bit of a boost down low) and you prefer a more practical box size, i'd go 1~1.5cuft. 1.5cuft would be my choice.

the difference won't be great at all, and there's never a 'perfect' box size.
