hi guys,

I am a begineer in car audio. Just wanna ask your opinion whether the DLS Genesis Q100X is a good pair for Dyn Audio 240 (will be put as front splits)

The Spec for DLS Genesis Amp Q100X is:
Rated power, 4 ohms, 25wrms x 4
Typical power, 4 ohms, 50wrms x 4
Rated power, 2 ohms, 50wrms x 4
Typical power, 2 ohms, 75 wrms x 4
Rated 4 ohms bridge mode, 150wrms x 2

and how approximately the sound will be? (how good approx. the quality will be)

Thank you in advance for everyone.

First of all, DLS and Genesis are independent companies. WHilst they shares manufacturing and design facilities some time back, each product is independent.

Both are of excellent quality in bot build and sound. I cant see you being dissappointed, however I know how much Dyns enjoy strong power.

Like has been said, both the DLS and Genesis Amps are great quality. I think the model you've described there is a Genesis amp.

It sounds like it'd be a perfect match for the dyns. I'd probably use it bridged, as dyns can handle plenty of power.

Thanks a lot guys. Really appreciate all the inputs.

bear in mind that installation technique is very important for best results. much like home audio speakers, the drivers should be solidly mounted in leak-free enclosures. of course this isn't practical in a car, but the more effort you place on achieving this, the better, particularly for the woofer.

so if the speakers are simply screwed into a door with no other effort, it'll sound good but nothing special. sound deadening, sealing off service holes, solid mdf/wood speaker baffles and optimised tweeter installation (position and angle) will go a long way toward allowing them to really perform.

yeah perhaps also I need to make new mounting for the speaker as it is 7inch, which won;t fit in my standard mounting.
anyway how if I change the tweeter with morel supremo, will it be better? and will the amp DLS Genesis (the spec is as above) has enough power to drive the dyn midrange and morel supremo?

Thank you so much.
Mickee
yes, you could run the dyn woofer and supremo tweet from the Genesis amp, but you may be a little restricted in how loud you can push them. Don't get me wrong, they will still play at very decent levels, but you will not be able to drive them to their maximum output.

You may be better off to just use the dyn system 240 on its own, run passively from the bridged amp. The dyn tweet will be much easier to install, and you avoid the difficulties of tuning the active system with the supremo tweets...

mixing and matching drivers poses the dilemma of setting suitable xover filters. in particular, the morel supremo will not perform particularly well off the dyn passive xover; the dyn MD100 tweet is a 4ohm driver whilst the supremo is 6ohm. impedence helps determine the xover frequency point on passive xovers, so a change here will alter the HP point. likely no good.

as such, when mixing and matching, you need to consider an 'active' setup, relying on active xovers of either a separate outboard xover or those inbuilt into the amp if suitable (i don't think that amp has suitable xovers inbuilt). an outboard xover obviously adds expense, as well as more power wiring and RCA cables, plus fitment. tuning it is another matter altogether.

and of course an 'active' 2-way setup relies on 4 channels of power. with only 25WRMS on tap for the woofers and around 16WRMS (into 6ohm) for the tweets, that will be quite limiting. it will still go to moderate levels and suit daily use, but won't go really loud. you would have to tune the gains very carefully so-as not to push the amp into clipping in a quest for more volume.

so whilst i expect the supremo to be supeior, it will take a fair amount of expense and effort to set it up properly.
