Hey there,

I am considering getting a new sub within the next few weeks or sooner if possible.

I have noticed the IDMAX sub has recieved much praise on the forums. So considering i am after very good SQ, will the IDMAX satisfy?

I want every note to be well defined especially in music with heavy double kick. My current type r 12" seems to be very dirty sounding.

As i have never heard an IDMAX, how does it compare to say a jl or xtant, which i am also considering.

PS does anyone know where i could audition an IDMAX in perth.

Cheers people biggrin.gif

I have heard very favourable reviews for these woofers too. Don't forget the more power you have to drive the woofer the better it will sound as well. I think you are going to need more amplification than that Crossfire amp you already have, SQ needs big power for accurate reproduction. And what about the the way the woofer is operating in your car, box size and positioning plus sound deadening is very important also.

Hey Adrian,
How's the T2.200v2 running?

The IDMax is supposed to be a very good SQ sub and I may consider one for myself smile.gif

I'd compare the IDMax to somewhere between the JL W6 and W7 - most pple would compare it to just the W7, checked the price on the W7 yet ?

Bye,
Mo

thats true about running them with more power. i was considering buying one but i only had 300 RMS to run it off.

so i went for IDQ 12.D4 - running at 2-ohm.

$849 ie you can get the MAX and a PHAT monoblock for the same price as the W7.

I like the look of the tru tech hammer mono amp! if finances permit i will seriously look at strapping one of those babies in the boot biggrin.gif.

The T2.200 is still going very well thanks Mo. biggrin.gif

What's the goss on the 15's? Is some one dreaming or are they really coming?
Hutch
Actually, IDMAX woofers sound like crap, but they are shiny so people buy them thinking they are good! (15 is coming, I have seen basket in the flesh, and as that is one of the most expensive parts to tool, I strongly suspect they will go ahead with it, but it will probably sound like crap too!)
Part of this post is not serious.

the 15 is talked about by ID over here as a more SPL than SQ sub.

The only thing about the 12 is i think its better at true subbass ie below 50Hz maybe as low as 30hz down depending on car type rather than a higher up sub it imo is not as good as say a W7 at the higher up stuff.

RRP of ID MAX 12" = $849AUD

RRP of JL 12W7 = $1,698AUD

i would think the W7 would be better in some respects.

Actually i was just down at Northfield moorooka today to get some neons installed, and was having a chat with everyone. And i have been told by a one of the good blokes there that the W7 in the US actually is in the same price range as the IDMAX. Someone is getting greedy along the way to Australia and jacked up the price!!!

Its about the same here in the UK too thats why i said what i did.
theres only £50 UKP difference at most. Mind the Diamond TDX is in the same sort of price range here too were its half the price of the ID or JL in the states. So it all depends on what the markup is for the distributors and dealers in each country.

I still stand by my statment that the ID is more of a true low down sub it can get a bit boomy at the higher stuff Compared to other makes of subs not just the JL W7 or JL W6v2 either many other makes. The ID is what i would call a true subbass driver its not a low midbass driver.
you will find most people that use the IDMAX are running it from at most 50Hz down and no higher.

dont' forget the Adire Brahma! smile.gif (3 posts in a row now wink.gif )
www.adireaudio.com
it'll set you back around $950. frmo www.accousticconcepts.com
I'm currently trying to organise better dealership arrangements.
ix
because the distributor won't sell to anyone below RRP, including his dealers?

Mr Bob, get working on Seas and Lotus as well tongue.gif
Mr_Bob
yup sad.gif
Seas and Lotus too huh?
i'll add them to my list! smile.gif
ix
thanks biggrin.gif
you know accoustic concepts are the seas lotus dealer as well yeah?...so same guy

yeah, the new lotus 4" midrange has just been recently released.
the lotus 7" driver apparently plays fairly clean midrange will the way up to about 4khz (5khz or more if there is a notch filter...)

so that will be something different smile.gif
