Hey people,

Im new here but thought you could help me out with an install in my Mazda B2000 cabplus minitruck.

At the moment, Ive got 4 inch dual cone in the front and 4way 6x9s in the rear. I know this isnt a good setup, but this was done on a budget after buying the car, just to get some sort of sound.

Would just getting a decent front stage and a single sub produce good SQ, without having speakers in the rear?

I was thinking something like a good set of 6 inch splits or 5x7s in the front doors / or kick panels and a sub or two behind the seats (its an xtra cab so there is plenty of room behind the seats for audio gear to go biggrin.gif ).

And if you guys could suggest some setup options that may suit. I realise my taste will factor speaker brand choice etc, but if you could guide me with some sizes, number of speakers / subs, and types of amps etc.

Sorry about my ignorance but Im new to the whole car audio scene.

Anyhelp or abuse would be greatly appreciated biggrin.gif

Cheers
Greg.

Yes that is a very good idea for achieving a good SQ install. I'd definetly gto for 6inch splits over 5x7's for the front stage. Give us a budget to work with and we'll be a lot more use to you in regards to recomendign components etc.

Also what's you existing headunit?

My budget is $2000 - $3000, for the components. I would be installing them myself, as ive installed a system before, my downfall is I dont know much about how to select the components to create a good SQ system.

My current head unit is a JVC 160W (not sure about model number), its going into the dumpster anyway, so It doesnt matter much.

i belive that it's more the process of a good install that creates good sq rather than the components.

have a look at the following combination from fhrx studio's.

It includes installation which is what you're going to wan't for optimum SQ.
