hiya,
just bought 2 earthquake BR-15s second hand and i am considering what enclosure to build. Unfortunately I cant find much info on these drivers. I remember reading an article a few years back mentioning their good performance in a ported enclosure.
I have some of their TS params, which are on a sticker on the woofer, but am interested to see if anyone has used these drivers before and had any succes in a particular enclosure?
cheers and beers,
Steve

hello,
i own a br12 and it's in a 1.7 cubic feet ported box. it sounds loud in ported box. i am told it will sound tigher in a seal box though.

I used to own a pair of the BR12's, I ran them in a couple of different sealed boxes, but they definately sounded better in the larger box (about 1.5 cu. ft. each. I think they would be best suited to a ported enclosure, but I think you'll need to make it quite large.

Yeah thanks guys, I'm thinking I might try the larger sealed enclosure for a flatter response and if not happy will keep ported in mind. Ive got enough power on tap anyway with 300WRMS per woofer anyway, so output in a sealed inclosure shouldnt be a problem

my mate has a 15" and the reccomended enclosure size is 3 to 5 cubic foot per sub,the larger the louder really. bout 68Lt in metric.

just put my br12 in 1.3 cubic feet seal box. it doesn't sound that good. then i put 1000g polyfill into the box to make it acts like a 1.4 ~1.5 box and it sounds much better.

i have two BR12's in a ported box tuned to 33hz, sounds good when its crossover nice and low around 50hz and fed good power of over 300wrms. just remember, they are a sub that is designed for ported use (the BR stands for 'bass reflex' or ported) so worthwhile keeping them in such an enclosure. ive metered teh response of mine 'in-car' and its nice and flat with barely any peaks, seasoned SPL junkies will confirm haha. good subs anyway, mine wont die no matter how hard i pound them, they last and last.
