Full Version: SQ of Kicker RS6 Splits?

Had a quick search for the Resolution line of Kicker splits and didnt get any hits so I thought I might ask here.

Does anyone have experience or opinions on the quality of Kicker RS6 splits? They dont look like cheap crap, but how good are they really? Compared to other stuff in the price range of ~$600-$700?

Do kicker make good SQ speakers in general or am I better off sticking to the european stuff like Focal?

Thanks

while they arent bad people here will reccomend Focal, Boston, DLS among others, best to demo them yourself, speakers shouldnt look good smile.gif

last heard a set a fair while ago - weren't too bad - but there is a lot out there for similar prices (focal, morel etc)

if you want kicker splits - wait till the new ss series show up in a couple of months - they look interesting (great crossovers)

if sound quality is your goal - let your ears guide you , not looks or price

Its not always possible to demo everything so the opinion of informed unbiased people is often the next best thing!

Any more opinions? Comments?

Go to Kicker.com or get there through http://www.customcar.com.au/02_kicker/html...eset_kicker.htm

The RS6s are in the 2000 catalogue and the SS Series in the 2004 cat.
I have RS6s and they are really good. They can go very loud without distorting and the amount of clear bass you get is incredible. Probably due to the woofer having a frequency range down to 40Hz.

When tuned to overlap the crossover freq of the sub, it makes the Sub-bass appear to come from the front. The tweeters do have to be attenuated though, as their Sensitivity is 93dB compared to the woofer's 87dB. At loud volumes the high frequencies really cut through you otherwise.
