I have a thought to get 2 x 10" JL W7 to replace my Concept Sub... nothing wrong with Concept Sub... its tight and not too boomy but not punchy enough... i used to run my concepts with my xtant 1001d... if I seriously getting the W7 do I need JL amp to get the best result of W7??? can i use my xtant??? coz some people told me that it is best to use JL 1000/1 amp to run W7 and the A&T (Yanddy) once told me that W7 doesn't work with xtant amp.
So what do you guys reckon??? Any recommended amps for W7??? how much power do I need??? and in what ohm???

Definately not.
I'm not a big fan of JL amplifiers but thats me, it's a nice brand-matching setup for sure, but don't limit yourself!
10W7s are SVC 3 ohm, meaning if you get a pair of them, you would like an amp with 1500-2000RMS comfortably at 1 ohm, each sub will get around 800-1000RMS, which will be rather nice
Perhaps get one of those Concept monoblocks for sale at the moment in the FS section, I think tuneman is the seller, you might have to search back a month or so...

You can run the XTANT no problems... Similar power to the JL1000/1. But two W7's would need a fair amount of power. They could take an amp each!

I read the JL website, the optimum power needed is around 500watt... do I really need 1500-2000watt to run a pair of W7???
What do you guys think of PG Xenon and Ti??? Are they match the W7??? I have considered the TruTech Hammer but I reckon the price is SICK... huahauah... can't afford that bro... i have spent alot... all my budget for bodykit, and rims are thrown for sound system... hauhaua...

There are quite a few options available to run those subs,
Alpine, Boston, Rockford Fosgate, Arc Audio, Fusion just to list a few but there are many more solid brands to look into.
Compare the features, outputs & built in processors till you find the one with all the things you need in the budget you set yourself.
The price range of the amps needed to run your subs, a little research before purchase will steer you clear of any regrets.
Good luck.

No you don't 'need' 1500 -2000watts, if optimum power is around 500w, then how about a Tru Tech T2.100 bridged or a T2.200V2 (wich btw will come in a wooden box at no extra cost for a limited time) or a Zapco Ref 500M ?
And just FYI, we are giving away free (on request) remote bass knobs with Tru 2ch amps and Hammers

As far as the build quality goes, who knows, but the sound quality will of course be fine.

How much is the TruTech??? do you have any other recommendation on subs???
T 2.100 RRP $978
T 2.200 RRP $1399
Hammer RRP $2198
Please contact our Victorian retailer :
www.rawaudio.com.au for better prices
And you will get the 'RN 1' remote knob free with any of the above amps so make sure you mention that when you order.
As for subs, also look at Image Dynamics subs, the IDMAX is a lot cheaper than the W7 and I prefer the ID to the JL.
Get two IDMAXes instead and you budget may even allow for a Hammer

The IDMAX12 are priced very well over here compared to the JL, check the US prices of JL vs Image Dynamics. No wonder Hutch is selling so many IDMAX's.

How big is the power for Hammer???
The Hammer is rated (at 13.8v) 600wrms @ 4ohms, 1000wrms @ 2 ohms and 1500wrms @ 1 ohm. Comp use @ .5ohms 2kw

Max power 3kw.
The Hammer also has very good efficiency (69% @ 4 ohms) and high damping factor ( >700 @ 4 ohms) and its a class a/b amp.

The JL would be a private import I'd assume because last time I checked Customcar did not bring the 10W7 to Australia...
