As all these splits are around the same price and I am thinking of getting a new set in a couple of months I was wondering which people think would suit the type of music and tastes that I am looking for.
I listen to only NRG, Trance and Hard House and will be powering them of a Audison LRx2.500. I want a set of splits that have great mid bass and also the tweeter has to sound as natural as possible not harsh. At the moment the plan for the sub is up in the air and the amp for the sub will probable be a LRx1.400 but that will not be for a while yet.

Any help or comments will be thanked.

i have a pair of dynaudio 240 mkII's.

the dyns seem to be more well suited to instrumental music as they are very warm.

my preferance after hearing all those 3 listed would be the elates, the bostons seemed a bit too bright for my liking, but the morels i have heard sound nice and laid back with nice punchy mids.

the biggest myth in car audio is that the dynaudios are suited more to instrumentals. I own a set of Dyns 240gt and my music (electro, progressive, techno) never has sounded so good before. I also disagree with most that they are laid back. They are alot more agressive than my Hertz Hsks thats for sure. Go with the dyns man.

I've auditioned the Dyns vs Alpine SPX. Didn't like the Bostons because they were too harsh for my liking...

Havent heard the Morel Elates sad.gif

But bought the Diamond Audio Hex! they were inbetween the dyns and the Pro's. a bit happier than the Dyns, but nowhere near as bright as the Pros...

the dyns are great sounding speakers, but in my experience with them, for me they perform much more impressively when playing "laid back" music as opposed to playing genres such as metal, which i also listen to alot.

But thats just my experience, try and listen to the speakers you are considering to help form your decision.

I've only heard Elates with Supremos and it sounded super sesnsational.
I've also heard the Dyns and they are very nice too...between those, the midbass driver of the Elates is better. And Supremos vs MD100...well....

Never heard Boston Pro's but I heard they have a beefy midbass driver and a crappy sounding tweeter.

If it was me, I'd prolly run active with Boston Pro or Elate drivers with Supremos.

It depends on what you are comparing the Dyns with... for eg. if you compare the Dyns with say Focal , you'd find that the Dyns are laid back and sweet but if you compare the Dyns to something crappy that sounds like its trying to push mud thru a straw, then the Dyns will sound "agressive" compared to these.

Also depends on the rest of the gear and xo /eq settings.

I'd personally go the Dyns too, very neutral. Boston Pros used to be one of my favourites many years ago but lately they seem to be living off their old reputation with cheaper materials.
