I'm on quite a budget and was looking at purchasing a Crossfire CFA302 to power my sub (I gotta get it soon, as the sub is sitting here on the floor in my room!). Whats the SQ like on these? Gunna be better than a Jaycar? Whats another cheap amp I could look at?

Unless you are using particularly high-end drivers and have exhausted all other avenues in your system, I would not turn to changing amplifiers to get better SQ.

i dont think he has any amp yet, but if you dont have one then yes a crossfire amp would do the job quite well. If you have a jaycar then i wouldnt personally bother upgrading.

In my opinion sub amps dont matter as much as front stage amps. Now im not saying a better quality amp for your sub wont make a difference at all but i dont think its as noticable

Hey poeee. smile.gif

If you want to try it on the jaycar 2x150 you could bring it over to my place once you've got the box built.

The only real difference will be the power output and the filters. Don't Crossfire 302s only have fixed filter points? (like the 602? I'm not 100% sure). If so, I would lean towards another amp with variable filters.

Prolly wont matter too much, my woofers should be able to keep up (within reason) to which ever frequency it's crossed over at.

Might give it a go, atmo. U aint seen my car yet!
