Well you already know what I think of them. I (and many of my customers) have always been impressed with their statistics and performance. True the Competition series are better but the Reference series are damn impressive too when you factor in their price.
BTW, the Zapco reference mono-blocks need the SymbiLink adapter as they don't have unbalanced (RCA) inputs.

Yeah, I understand that completely. We have many customers that are in far west NSW, SA and NT that cannot listen to stuff so they have to just trust our judgement.
I don't reallly like doing business that way but what choice can they have? I just have to make sure I ask them as many questions as possible and choose carefully.

i can vouch for the reference series amps.
i heard a monobloc + 2chan setup a few weeks ago. they're very clean amps - up there with the best without a doubt. power delivery is very nice - and they're smooth at low or high volumes - not becoming brash/harsh at loud levels. lots of headroom too! they're "real" watts! i'd rate the build right up there with any of their famed competition - arc, audison, pg, xtant, 'stream etc.
i'm considering using zapco gear when my new car!
of course, listening to them is highly recommended (as with any component), before splashing-out, but you really can't help but like them!
i like!

I'm a happy Zapco owner.
When I upgraded to the Zapco reference series I heard a VERY noticeable difference in the clarity of vocals, especially at higher volumes, even though on paper my Zapco had less power than my other amps. (but we all know 'on paper' means nothing these days).

thanks
i read a review where some dude compared the 500m and the rockford 1000bd and he reckons that the zapc sounde better and was just as loud could that be true
cos i compared a kenwood 460w rated witha a MTX 280 watt amplifer with the same type of sub in the same size enclosure at the same time and the MTX sounde deeper and louder than the kenwood and the kenwood had double the power rating could this be the same with the zapco?

i've bought many items without hearing them first.
infact, i hadn't heard ANY component of my current system until it arrived. not one item has disappointed yet!
if you do your homework, you can buy with confidence.

I am with Mr_Bob, Unfortunately I have been unable to Audition any of my components either. No-one in Adelaide has 165w3's on their boards and no-one that I could find sells Zapco.
Anyway, I have a Zapco Refernce 750 (Thanks to Stik79) running my Focals, they love it, have not had any dramas. I thought about using the symbalink, but currently just have the RCA's. Might upgrade later, but no problems at all. Fantastic amp IMO.
From what I am aware, very good quality SQ amp, and well regarded as an SQ amp.
