Does anyone think this is a worthwile idea feel to tell me if I'm an idiot if you want ok as I mention in my other thread here I'm starting to think of what I can do next I currently have 1 PG Ti12d and am very happy with it I was thinking of getting a pair of 8inch drivers and bandpassing them to have play higher freq range then my PG while setting its LPF lower does this sound worthwhile and would it sound good or is it a stupid idea thanx.

Nah its stupid. Because you need a seperate amp for the 8inch woofers, and u'd have to purchase the 8inch woofers as well. Well over $1000, worth of extra money for little improvement.

If you sold your splits for $500, giving you $1500, imagine getting a set of $1500 splits and run it from your current amp. The difference would be HUGE.

Could get Morel Elate, Dyn or Boston Pro 3ways for that sort of money.

Yeah I know amps not a problem got one sitting around doing nothing and only looking at getting some 2nd hand woofers for $200 theres always something like that for sale on here so thats what got me thinking about it just looking to do something different really has anyone done this and did it make a noticable improvement?

Did you put both mids in yet? How come you haven't dropped back around? Is my advice that bad!!?

ahaha no I decided to sound deaden my doors so that took most of the week I was going to change the cross overs over monday but I have been feeling sick I'll probally do it tomorrow or friday I'll bring it round then. Yep I put the mids in when I did the doors.

What frequency range do you want them to cover? Are they going to be mounted at the front of your car?

No idea yet not sure where I'm going to mount them either this is just me looking at some different options for the future. Most likely postions to mount them would be upside down in the rear parcel tray positions (VS Commodore)

And how high are you expecting them to play?

Again I don't know just want them to blend in with my 12 and teh fronts.
