Hi,

I am just wondering what sort of difference will I notice in terms of sound quality from these speakers (same brand and model). I am planning to custom my door trim so fitting is going to be troublesome for any of the above sizes.

Bigger plays lower? handles more power? what else?

I'd day get the 6.5. Since you are going custom and they all require the same amount of work to fit. They can play lower and thus pull the soundstage more foward than the others.

deffintely worth getting the bigger ones (6.5's)
as stated by Phat Devil, brings the soundstage forward which makes a HUGE difference

my setup doesnt have too much midbass atm and it feels as though part of the music is just not there sigh

make sure you seal and deaden your doors if you install them there! you need to get the installation down right too
