Ok guys like what the subject says above what unit do you think is better in sound quality wise.????

and i looked up some web pages on them but what do you think there benifits over each other are?????

They are both excellent for SQ... clarion has its famed dual 24bit DAC's but pioneer and alpine always seem to do well with their 1bit DAC... although the latest pioneer models are coming out with 24bit burr brown DAC's. I dont know if this makes too much difference but a would rec for SQ the Clarion slightly over the Pioneer... although Pioneer is better for adjustment and alike and prob is slightly more feature packed... clarion has some features which i find useless ie the 5channel crap anyone who has a centre channel in a car is stupid IMHO if they want to watch 5.1 sit in their lounge chair :hehe: jks!
anyway its up to you, i think the clarion looks like s**t compared to the pioneer and the difference in SQ is negligable its up to you smile.gif

I haven't used the Clarion, so I can't comment. The Pioneer has ALOT of audio adjustment features, more than you'll ever need.

I would go and play with them both to see which you prefer to USE and to LISTEN to. But remember, when listening to them that they will both probably not sound that great until you tweak them for how you like your sound.

So true i had a listen to the clarion and well it sounded a bit plain but after the salesman cameover i had a little play with some setings and it sounded much better to me.
but i can't afford a big mack even at the minute. So i am trying to save my pennies. Might be a few months of before i even get anything.

I just wanted to see what some people thaught of the unit. Because my mate has a pioneer 9450 and he is so pioneeer loyal it is not funny. but anyway we have arguments on what is better alot. and hes trying to tell me that his is the best thing on earth, and i laughed at him.... biggrin.gif i think he is a lost cause.

i think you should pick the one that blends in with the car u have, and is user friendly.

they both sound good, and there is nothing worse than thumbing on the buttons on the face to adjust something.

just my two cents.

I'm using the Clarion 945MP (US version of the 946...same deck without the silver bits on the face).

It takes some getting used to..but becomes very natural after a while and everything is very simple to use.
Time alignment adjustments, individual speaker gain settings, parametric eq's that can adjust virtually any frequency you need...more stuff than you can poke a stick at.
You won't be disappointed.

I wont say it's better than the Pioneer cos I have no basis for comparison..

But I'd have no hesitation in recommending it.

And as for people thinking it looks sh1t...I never bought it for the looks...but nonetheless it's grown on me a lot since I got it. Probably the quality of the sound coming out of it makes it look a heap better too.

The Clarion has a lot of features but is not my cup of tea to use or admire.
The Pioneer has similar features, two faces and a colour display.

Both are lineball in terms of sound quality and performance.

However, since it's release I can't believe I haven't seen a crapload more DEH-P1Y being used. These are very nice new decks and my pick for Pioneer's 2004 MP3 receivers.
