gday all
im currently trying to make a crossover for some speakers that i am building myself
im just following plans i have gotten off the internet.
the problem is that the capacitor values and inductor values are all non-standard value ie 3.4uF cap. I can onli find 3.3uF caps - a reputable dealer of high qulaity electronics components has told me that "because caps generally have a high tolerance, this wont make a difference" - what does he mean by this? is he crapting me on to buy his stuff? will the difference in avalue make a noticeable difference in sound?
any help would be greatly appreciated all you tech-heads out there -
*me looks around for bassaholic to reply
also if anyone had any idea where i could find
1.6ohm 5W resistor, capacitor 7uf, capacitgor 3.4uF, or
inductor 1.8mH, 0.83MH (air core, minimum 13 gauge, low DCR), inducotor .25MH (air core)
do specs like low DCR, large gauge wiring etc make a difference in terms of the sound quality?
cheers!
