Hi,
I have a Pionner DEH 5650 i think and I am runnng two sets of splits and a sub (JBL powered SUB 100W RMS ) and an MTX 404 amp...and power is split by a JayCar copper power splitter...Cable is 8 GA from battery and doesnt get HOT during opertion. Clarion Splits for the front and Pioneer Bullet splits for the back...

 What happens is if i gain the MTX amp (runs 4 splits) high the subs volume decreases sharply as if not enough power is going into it or something...if i lower gain on MTX i am able to get decent sound off the sub...what am I to do ?? i cant fullly utilize the splits or the sub due to this.

What could be wrong sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif Helllp i tried everywhere and got no answers but im sure i'll get the right help smile.gif

thanks for the help

Because you failed to mention a lot of stuff so it was a stab in the dark.

Do you have 8 guage earth as well?
Have you scraped away the paint from your earth point?
What type of connectors are you using?
What type of fuse are you using?
What battery you got?
What car have you got?
Have you been testing with the engine on or off?

For reference you probably aren't getting much help because you posted this in the audiophile section when the beginners area would be more appropraite.

Hi,
Yes 8 GA for earth,,..paint scraped off.....what do u mean connecors...its just wire looped up and screwed in..Fuse is AMP/SUB are fused...and it has one of the standard bigass gold Fuse thing before the battery...and the car is a 93 Honda Prelude

Ok well your wiring should be able to supply enough current.

By connectors - I ment on the battery end. Now most importantly:

Have you been testing with the engine on or off?

This will determine if it's a battery problem or not.

Yeh mate with engine running so it cant be that....!!! what else...comeon ppl....i thought this was where i would get all teh audio heads !!
