I was just browing the forums having a good read, then I thought of an idea of pressurising a sealed sub box. I realise that the bass is made from excursion of the woofer and im not sure on the science side of it.
I am thinking that the psi would hold the sub in a 'pushed out' position but then thought that if you have an inverted install, that might have benefit, but most likly im just thinking of ideas that have no benefit in the real world. How airtight would the cone be anyway?

lol sorry for this radical probably stupid idea, knew i should of chosen phsyics this year at school smile.gif

Thanks - alz:thumb:

Motor moves out, motor moves back that is how sound is made.

ahh k, i didnt understand the physic of the sound, I thought that the sound was only created on the 'punch' as the sub compressed the air in the box.
LoL thought this idea sounded stupid.

Thanks alz - smile.gif

In other words, if you pressurise the box, the sub will have some dificulty in getting the cone /coil back to "rest" postion and "in" position.

Depending on the amount of pressure, you will restrict cone movement.

keep in mind, a sealed box is a suspension for the sub:ie. to allow controlled movement from a resting point - just like a spring.

Yeah, pressurised bandpass box as equal pressure on each side helps on neutralising the woofer.

Easy way of explaining it, go to http://www.howstuffworks.com and search for "speaker"
