Hi just got my system planned to install into a 1989 Nissan Skyline GTS-4. Is there any obvious part that should be upgraded, which might otherwise mess up the whole experience?

im assuming you're bridging the PG amp..
the things i would consider changing, would really be only the front stage.. as the Pro 6.5 would put out alot more midbass..
other than that the MTX could be upgraded if used a SQ application... and it doesn;t have to be 1500wrms

12W7-3 (3 ohm) 12" WOOFER, 750 W/RMS, 1800 W/PEAK $1,498.00 EA
As the 12w7 is single 3ohm, id opt for something like a JL 1000/1, which will give you power from 1ohm to 4ohm.
Your system sounds good, however id definately try and fit some 6.5" mids if possible. Look at the PG Elites, Morel Elates aswell as Dyns, Focal, Hertz and ofcourse Boston.

i'd say it depends on what your budget is
if you're talking SQ, i'd be looking at:
AMPS - Audison, ARC, Zapco, Tru
SUBS - Image Dynamics, DD, Boston, Diamond
SPLITS - Boston, Dyn, Focal, DD 6.5's + some tweets
- Stooge007 out

why in the world would you want to change your system???
are you unhappy with it??
if not look at a different install
the 12w7 3ohm sub will receive at least 750watts rms @ 12.5volts and 1000watts @ 14.4volts
that should be enough
the boston tweeters are a little harsh for my liking but installed the right way will sound awesome.
its all about install the componets chosen are all top notch

Hey Lithius, are you unhappy with the system? That component list is rock-solid on paper, so are you unhappy with a particular aspect?

Components are easier to change than installation for the lazy

No I don't have the system yet, I took out a loan for a car with a few grand extra to spend on the sound system. So i've got the car, and the extra money is sitting here, just wondering if what i've got in mind is any good...
I'll get the 6.5" Components instead 'cause they're the same price anyway.
Are MTX amps bad in the SQ department? Would a PG Xenon 600w Monoblock be better?
