Thinking of running an ID 12 as an sq sub, in a sealed box for the time being. Anyone had any dealings with them? Will it provide me with nice loud bass, running 230wrms thru each VC.

Image dynamics are nice SQ sub. Haven't got the chance to listen to IDQ12 but the IDmax sounds good and it can be loud too.
They are rated at 250wrms, so I might wanna give a little more like 300-350wrms. I used to run MTX4000 (200wrms) with Jaycar amp (bridged 234wrms) and not very happy with the performance. Now it is being pushed by JL 250/1 (250wrms) and it boom alot louder.
the idv3 is a very nice sq sub. very accurate and yes if you must please yourself with loud bass it can do it as well.
the recommended sealed enclosure of 1.25cft (not incl. sub displacement) seems to do the job very well.
give it a few weeks of run in, before you make your comments on it however. It sounds like it has a fair bit of overhang/too much extension during this run in period. The ID tech guys say everything tightens up ~25% after this run in period and I can confirm that with my own testing.
I think the idv3 is priced very well imo.

I can only give it 230wrms each VC its going in a toyota 4runner, and im real loading so hoping that it will get cabin gain.

you mean the sub will receive ~230wrms don't you?
don't wire the sub in stereo.
imo 230wrms would be loud enough for me yes, but i'm not really the best to ask about loudness or spl.

Are you getting one or two sub? If it's just one sub DVC 4ohm, you just need to wire them parallel to get a 2ohm load, which is just 1 ch off your amp. Then bridge the jaycar amp to 350wrms?? and it will be pumping

Just to add, I am not sure if you can run a DVC speaker with 2 amps. Maybe in can be done but if the 2 amps are out of phase, then there will be a big problem to how the sub moves.

These amps are great value for money but they aren't known for their sq - so if sq is a big concern you should probably look for a different amp.

but then again a sub produces an ~ 10% distortion inherently anyway so..............
but which id sub are you talking about anyway? the idv3, idq or idmax
