as the title suggests, I'm tossing up between these two splits. If anyone has auditioned the two, and has an opinion...please let me know! smile.gif
Uninformed opinions are also welcome

I have the JL XR series..even though they have a different 'sound' they're easily on the same level as the Boston Pro's that I've heard.

The ZR supposedly has been designed for better midbass, clearer highs & better crossover according to the JL Audio Rep I talked to. So I guess you can't go wrong.

Where u thinking of getting the ZR's? I can't find them anywhere..

I don't think they'll be available in Australia til christmas (from what I've heard). However I can get a set of bostons almost immediately.

Good old car audio, always confusing the unwary consumer

yeah, out of my price range unfortunately.

which splits are you running up front? esotars?
-DJ-
just 240mkII's. $999 rec retail.

the esotars are lovely (VERY lovely), but overkill imo. plus, i know the good old md100 can (and nearly always does), sound fantastic.
bloody marginal gains. you get to the point where you throw thousands of dollars into equipment and it gets you small gains. it seems to be the same with all home hi-fi too.

i tend to be an advocate of setting up what you've got right, rather than just "upgrading" when you're after more.
