I am an audiophile and am concerned primarily with the audio SQ more than the video quality (although of course i want good video too). I am choosing between the two HU. Can you compare them with regards to:

a) Sound Quality (How much better is X to Y)
B) Video Quality


Note:
- Tuner is not impt to me
- XMS radio is not impt to me
- 5.1/DTS is not impt to me

Im thinking alpine... not superior but a better in SQ.. not sure on vid quality tho... could be pretty similar.. just need people who have had experience with each perhaps.. not many I imagine since there fairly new models..

The alpine has the highest pic quality on the market 1.15million mega pic

the pioneer won the in-car award for best screen for 2004

The pioneer won the best screen? was this the pioneer 7550? or was it the 7300? They say that the 7300 is even much better in screen quality than the 7550.

Also, was the alpine 900/901 already included in the roundup when pioneer won the award?

It is the 7550 that won the award. However the D900 wasnt incorporated into the contest. Only the D300 (pulse touch screen is). The D900 is definitely better in terms of video quality (stealth is right, 1.15million vs 330,000) and also have a plug and play GPS feature with the blau system. Yes it needs a separate processor but it is definitely worth it if only for the video. And yes the 7300DVD screen is better in terms of quality compared to the 7550 as i have one.

But what about the audio side of it? which one is better and how big is the difference? Im particular with the audio SQ of it.
