Anyone had any first hand experience with these splits? Im looking into a new front stage. Was thinking of a Tru-tech T-4.100v2 then was thinking about the Rainbow CS 265's splits. Also looking into the Mb quart PCE 216. But i think they look like crap (jaycar speakers lol) and they dnt handle as much as the Rainbow. But its a matter of how they sound. I really want a good front stage and just a sub to fill out. So i want a really nice refined front stage. Plenty of mid bass, smooth top end. No nasty's. Very flat response. Anyone used either of these first hand? Or any other suggestions for similar price?

How will you be powering the splits? Active or with the two channels off the four?

Where are you located? I can only speak from experience with the Rainbow 3ways, let me know if you want my comments.

Was considering going active. But very expensive. Will probably start off passive and then maybe move to active. Splits will be located in door of VS Commodore. Let us know what you thought of the 3 ways. Just after general comments on the brands, and if anyone has used these specific speakers well great! biggrin.gif Thanks.

i've got the profi cs 265 kicks in my car and they are absolutely brilliant, so much detail and the tweeter is very smooth which is mounted in the dash, its got a flat response but not to the point of dull flat if you know what i mean....i really can't praise these speakers anymore they are stunning, don't make any comments about these speakers until you actually hear them yourself biggrin.gif

Just after general comments on the brands...

Rainbow is a well established brand from Germany, hand made speakers using some of the best materials available. Rainbow offers different variants of the speakers for different tastes.

Tru Technology also hand make all their amps in USA (one of the few companies to still do this), each amp is quality tested, all amps feature dual power supplies and have thermaly capable heatsinks to handle the rated power output.

There are two Rainbow CS 265ves - the Profi (silk dome tweeter and a natural fibre cone on the mid) and the Profi Vanadium ( aluminium/celulose dome tweet and woofer cone).

The Tru Tech T4.100V2 would be a good choice - you will be able to run your fronts and a sub of this amp very well and it will sound very good too!

Where are you located ?

Im actually in Geelong (Victoria). im now more leaning towards the tru-tech t4x65 instead of the 4x100. will use a different amp for sub.

I also had a listen to some focals the other day. Didn't like the Utopia's all that much. A bit bright and too "airey". The k2's seemed too have a nicer, warmer mid bass and a smoother tweeter. Anyone else think this about the focals?

As for the Rainbows, i like the sound of the profi cs265's

Thanks guys
