Hello,
Im interested in what you would recommend

the pioneer TS-C1625 which is a 220W or 60W rms 2 component speaker and 2 separate tweeters rrp $399, will get for $299

or the JBL GTO605Ce which is a 270W speaker with 2 separate tweeters. rrp $259 and can get for this price.

Thanks for any help

Have a listen to both and decide which you like best, I haven't listened to any JBl splits before but I usally find Pioneer speakers too harsh for me.

Also just check things like build quality of the x-over and speaker, usally a good indication of what quality they have been built too cos if they look cheaply made they will usally sound pretty bad.

I've owned both sets of speakers, and i must say i much preferred the TS-C1625. The tweeters on the GTO are way too harsh, and there is no attenuation level built into the crossover. I also thought midbass was very lacking on the GTO's, even when the kicks were well deadened and the speakers were amplified.

The TSC's on the other hand. Where do i start? I had these speakers for around 2 years, without any complaints at all. I know some people may say the tweeters are harsh but i disagree. I did however have the -3db attenuation option wired so maybe thats why. Midbass was very strong also.

So if it were up to me i wouldn't hesitate choosing the Pioneers, but you really need to go and listen to them yourself, and unless you like radio or dance i suggest you take your own cd to listen to.

Hey thanks
yeh i was leaning towards the pioneers, the type of music i listen to his like hip - hop, rap, techno that sort of stuff.
so i will be installing some subs soon, would the pioneers still be the best choice for my car??

Because i want something that will be able2 handle the high frequency's but i think the pioneer ones will do the job.

Thanks

Well only your ears can tell you if the pioneers will be right for you. Although the demo board doesn't replicate the in car situation, it does give you a pretty good idea. If you like Hip Hop, techno etc then take a cd with that sort of stuff on it to demo the speakers, and you may find that you like a different set of splits all together. Good luck with it.
