Check this out... its a design for a tweeter that works perfectly, with almost zero distortion... its not a diaphragm, or a horn, its FIRE! Plasma flame to be exact...

From memory, back in the eighties Magnat did a variant of their Magnasphere speakers with a plasma tweeter.
Reports indicated that it sounded very good but listeners did complain of headaches put down to gas inhalation.

LOL winno yeah... to anyone who knows home audio in canberra may know duratone/kingston hi-fi... (my previous place of employment). they've got a set of magnats with plasma tweets in captivity (well.. actually, in the junk room).
they sound... well.... different to anything else you've ever heard in a tweet. it was a wierd experience. and they stink! you'd want to keep your windows wound down if you were crazy enough to install them.
and oh,... what happened to magnat. they were once really quite good! gone the way of wharfedale and mordaunt-short and jbl....
