I just got a call from our Clarion supplier to say that my Clarion HX-D2 head unit has just arrived.
Not cheap though at NZ$2799 retail.
After 3 months, the last peice of my system has arrived and I'm happy as a pig in mud.

It's hard for me to share your excitment without myself having one.
Dont suppose they've got another one sitting around and are prepared to swap for a 8yr old pioneer unit.

Great! I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do now...it is a very fine piece of deck, sir! Btw, my HU is installed and tuned, and it sounds wonderful! Of course, there's the issue with stock tweeters I'm currently using right now, but hopefully in the coming weeks I can have it fixed.
Cheers,
Bon

I told our source that Oz has had them for a few months when I was asking him why it took so long to get them here.
I was suspecting "other" reasons.
But, no need to wonder anymore.
NZ only got 2 for the whole country can you believe it?

the hx-d1 has been out for aaaages. the d1 really was the predecessor to the d2, not the 9255.
i've only ever seen 1 in a car and 1 in a car mag (the black merc in incar some months back). they're very similar to the 9255 in dacs/filtering/opamp yet with a greater feature set. they run the same dc-dc converter as the 9255 too, from memory.
i'd imagine they'd be quite the collector's item nowadays!
