hey guys.
i have got a 8061 with balanced line adaptor and also a soundstream rub600-4 amp. is there any way i can use the balanced line inputs of the amp? its like a little 6 pin plug instead of rcas and i supposed to reject all noise. how would i do this?
icacha
i dont think so

they run balanced from the head unit and the BLA unbalances them to go into the amp/s
Damon
The balance connections offer an advantage for noise rejection, but ultimately if you set the system up correctly and avoid indusced noise problems you should not suffer any soudn quality degradation by using the regular high voltage RCA connections.

I think Soundstream put out a simple schematic for the wiring/pin config if you could find one for the Eclipse, you might be able to jury-rig something.

Maybe

You could definatly go balanced but there really is no need as Damon correctly points out. Balanced offers no SQ benefits and with the quality of components you are using there will be no inherent noise, and its not that hard to avoid induced noise with unbalanced RCAs.

My advice would be forget balanced and just hook up using UTP RCAs as you would any other system. If the system was being fitted in a pub or recording studio going balanced would make sense but in a car its a waste of time and resources.

ok thanks guys. what are some good rca's that are cheap. i used to have some stinger dream rca's but they are too expensive. are there any other brands that offer comparible quality at less cost?
Cyberpunky
If you are on a budget just grab some cat 5 cable and use the tighter twisted pair of the 2. Solder on some rcas and jobs done...They will be as good as anything you can buy, and will save you some money.

Have a look at the lets get twsited section on my site (in sig) if you want to know more. BTW you can get rca connectors from jaycar or radio parts etc

if you want to use the balanced outs (and there's nothing wrong with wanting to do so), all it'll take from my old eclipse is a sounstream balanced plug, some cable and some rcas. omitt the bla.

in regard to noise, you could wrap a balanced cable around your alternator and probably pick-up no noise, but as cpunky and co have said, its not going to be a step-up in SQ, unless your system suffers induced noise problems.

still cool tho... i'm prolly gonna end up running my new pg zeropoints balanced, but we'll see.
